“The Asia’s Largest Gay Party” organised annually since 2001 by Fridae.com, the largest GLBT network in Asia, usually take place in Singapore, coincide with Singapore’s Independence Day on August 9.
But not this year.
This year the party that has drawing 6,000-8,000 participants on the previous year will take place in Phuket, Thailand.
The resort island is scheduled to host for the first time what the GLBT (gay, lesbian, bisexual and transsexual) spanning three days starting this Friday, 4 November 2005.
Altogether, nine parties will be staged over the weekend at places including the Karon stadium, Crowne Plaza hotel and Phuja Nirvana bar and restaurant.
The parties will feature world-class DJs and stars from the US, Australia, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, New Zealand, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
And the selected theme is: “Embracing Diversity”.

This will be the 2nd time Phuket held a GLBT festival, the first one the annual Phuket Gay Pride Festival on April 7 to 10, 2005.

Vietnam – The hidden charm is the new slogan for Vietnam’s tourism industry.
The new slogan took four months and 23 jury to be picked from over 800 entries.
I wonder why so many juries involved on this? What you need to pick a good slogan or taglines for a campaign is usually just a really good copywriter.
Vietnam has to change the slogan again after some years if the campaign is succesfull, since by that time, it won’t be so
hidden anymore.

Phuketremembers.com a memorial website dedicated for Tsunami Disaster in Phuket, Thailand launched by Phuket province.
The bilingual website English-Thai, provides a personal tribute section for visitors who wish to remember and pay their respects to those who lost their life, those who were saved and those who gave their time and help, and in some cases their lives, in assisting others.
You can also enter yourself in Tsunami Memorial Writing Contest. More information about the contest can be found here.
The site feature includes: event calendar concerning with tsunami memorial days, memorial guest book and photos submission of memorial days.
Phuket province vice-governor, Niran Kalayanamit:
“Tsunami memorial days will be from 25 to 27 December while the monument should be at Khao lak-Lam Ru National Park in Phangnga province, ceremonies will be held in at Phuket’s Patong and Kamala beaches and in Krabi.”

SHANGRI-LA Asia Ltd, Asia’s biggest hotel operator, controlled by Robert Kuok, has four hotels in Beijing and expects more opportunities in the capital and in smaller markets such as Chengdu and Urumchi, said Symon Bridle, chief operating officer.
