  • Le Meridien Khao Lak Thailand Reopens

Filed under: Uncategorized — enda @ 5:19 pm

Le Meridien Khao Lak Beach & Spa Resort in Thailand will reopen 15 October after extensive reconstruction in the wake of the 26 December tsunami that swept through the resort property almost wiping out the beachside villas.

All of the 10 lagoon villas and 15 pool villas that stand just a few metres for the beach were trashed by the waves and had to be entirely rebuilt.

The resort will sell rooms at US$75 a night.

    From ettrdaily.com

Visit the official site of Le Meridien Khao Lak Thailand for more information.

    Brief description of the property:

Conveniently located an hour’s drive from Phuket International Airport and covering over 13,056 metres of lovingly landscaped gardens and architecturally distinguished low rise buildings, there can be no finer place to discover paradise.

…One of the most attractive features of the resort is its luxurious spa – Le Spa – which offers guests a full range of body pampering treatments.

With its peaceful surroundings, Le Meridien Khao Lak Beach and Spa Resort is also ideal for more sedentary pursuits, such as a sunrise and sunset meditation and yoga session or just sitting still as you gaze in wonderment at exotic bird life….

  • You can find Bali in Lombok, but not Lombok in Bali

Filed under: Uncategorized — enda @ 5:07 pm

Lombok Indonesia by Der Pixiemeistersource photos here

Last week BaliBlog wrote two post about Lombok that you can read here and here.

Basically saying that besides it’s obvious advantages and beautiful beaches and landscape Lombok still a free tourist island.

And how the Balinese people bad mouthing how Lombok is.

… the Balinese will tell you that there are only rice and bananas to eat, no roads, no places to stay, that Lombok people are skilled in knife-fighting, and are easily provoked-all quite untrue. The Balinese just want to keep the tourist business to themselves….

Anyway, check out this article on Indo.com Lombok: What Bali was? to gain better perspective about Lombok and this page on Wikipedia about Lombok if you interested about hard facts about the island.

Nice quote from the above article:

… Some people say that you can find Bali in Lombok, but not Lombok in Bali, because Lombok is what Bali was, before all the development and tourism. Lombok’s charm lies in its century-old culture, tranquil coastal areas with virgin white beaches, and green mountains…
